Displacement Experiments is a 2017 series of procedural 3D studies built around surface deformation, texture-driven geometry, and abstract material behavior.
The series explores displacement as both a modeling technique and a visual language. Height maps, procedural textures, and material response push simple forms into ridges, fractures, ripples, and terrain-like surfaces.
Rather than treating the tests as isolated renders, the image set reads like a small archive of material behavior: glossy folds, eroded geometry, stressed surfaces, and abstract structures caught between sculpture, landscape, and simulation.
The work sits at the intersection of technical experiment and cinematic image-making, using procedural surface detail to create tactile forms that feel photographed, manufactured, and unstable at the same time.
