Temple of the Sun

Temple of the Sun is a short cinematic built in Unreal Engine 5, set deep within a forgotten Hindu temple complex reclaimed by forest and time. Light breaks through the jungle canopy in thick shafts, falling across ancient columns, cracked stone, and still water. The staircase rises toward something just out of reach. The film moves between two states of the same space — the temple as it once stood, and the ruin it became. No characters, no conflict. Just light, atmosphere, and the weight of something sacred slowly returning to the earth. Rendered with Lumen global illumination and Nanite geometry, color graded in DaVinci Resolve through a Linear-ACES pipeline with Dehancer film emulation.

Temple of the Sun uses architecture as the main storytelling device, balancing hard-edged forms with dust, warmth, and ritual atmosphere.

The project studies how light can define the emotional read of a place before the viewer understands its function.
