Overcast is a Grand Isle tactical conditions report for fishing, combining live weather, marine conditions, tides, solunar timing, and species-coded fishing grounds into one cinematic field interface.
The project pulls together the kinds of information anglers usually have to check across several places: NWS current conditions and forecast, NOAA tides and water levels, wind and visibility, solunar activity windows, and mapped fishing zones around Grand Isle.
Instead of treating that data as a standard weather page, Overcast presents it like an operational screen. Forecast cards, marine readouts, tide context, moon timing, and fishing-ground markers are organized into a dense interface that can be scanned quickly while still feeling atmospheric and tactile.
The Mapbox layer gives the piece its field-report character, plotting fishing grounds and species-coded spots against a coastal map. The teal, low-light visual language keeps the system tied to overcast marine conditions: technical, damp, local, and built around the practical question of whether the water, weather, and timing are worth the trip.
